Emma Case is a visual artist and creative producer collaboratively working with communities, focusing on themes around nostalgia, archives and the everyday. She is passionate about people, listening to their stories, encouraging creativity, but mainly, it’s about creating experiences for people – whether that’s the experience of being photographed, seeing a photograph they’ve taken be exhibited.. or simply feeling a valued part of a project.
Emma founded The RED Archive, a community project collecting and sharing Liverpool fans’ personal photos and stories. RED shares the archive through exhibitions, publications, reminiscence workshops and (very soon) a renovated vintage caravan as a mobile exhibition hub which will tour Liverpool and beyond.
She is currently Artist in Residence at Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery, working with Clickmoor, a gorgeous photography group based in the north of the city.
Emma is also Social Practice Producer, supporting Open Eye’s socially engaged programme, working with communities and partners across Liverpool and the City region.
Emma also has her BSL level 3 and is passionate about supporting the Deaf community, particularly in the arts. She is also the founder of The IDo Community, a space where members can give their time and skills to raise funds and create awareness for various charities and non-profits.
