- Description
In this talk Rolf Kraehenbuehl looks back on his practice of the last ten years with emphasis on the trajectory his photography took in recent years.

Date: Saturday 28th June
Time: 3pm (doors 2.30pm)
Location: Upstairs in the Gallery at Oriel Colwyn
Both the pandemic and studying for an MA Photography have transformed his approach to the medium of photography, the choice of subject matter and the process of image-making.
Fast paced street photography in cities in the UK and in Europe has given way to working locally and increasingly integrating more conceptual approaches into his projects.

Central to his photography is searching for, and testing creative strategies to visualise space-place relationships in the built, cultural environment and to capture the essence of a place as perceived through his eyes and mind.

He will elaborate on the rationale of the analogue project “Corpus | Delicti” - currently on show at Oriel Colwyn - which is an experimentation of how we can use the photographic material to record traces other than light, and to explore the materiality of what is photographed and how this can be reflected and recorded in the images.
TALK PHOTO is a fortnightly evening social event in Oriel Colwyn’s gallery space, where invited speakers are here IN PERSON to share presentations and insights about their work or projects, with a friendly intimate audience.
Audience tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis.
