James is a local photographer who has been a wildlife enthusiast since he was young, traveling all over the UK to see rare and unusual birds.
In 2014 he took up photography, specialising in natural history. In 2015 James was awarded two gold awards for collections entered in the prestigious national Koestler Awards.
We were pleased to offer a voice to James through the display of his photography. More information on the Koestler Trust and awards can be found on their website.
Judging the collection, the renowned wildlife photographer and documentary maker Gavin Maxwell described James’ work as:
”a consistently strong series of photographs of some challenging subjects. There is a strong eye for composition, and a degree of humour evident in the subjects.”
James' stunning photograph of a redshank - included in this collection - is on permanent display at the RSPB Conwy reserve, where he staged an exhibition last year.
This exhibition has been made possible by support from the Arts Council of Wales.
